It is just 60 km from La Paz and is one of the most visited of all the Cordillera Real, consists of 13 major peaks over 5,000 masl, making it ideal for all types of climbing. Among these include the Cabeza del Condor (Condoriri), Small Alpamayo, Wyoming, left wing, right wing, Illusion, Ilusioncita, Tarija, White Pyramid and black marlin. Its highest peak reaches 5,700 masl at its feet you can see the lagoon Tuni Condoriri.

Leaving the city behind we arrive to the " Plaza de Llamas" after a 2 hours trip, where a group of llamas and theircarriers are waiting to take part commonly used luggage, tents, cooking utensils and food. We start the trek at 4300mleads us to our first camp on the shores of Chiarcota Lagoon 4600m. In the afternoon we make an approach to theglacier (beginning of the route to climb the snowy Pequeño Alpamayo) 3.5 hours hike, in the way we can observevizcachas which have their burrow around.


Early we will appreciate the sunrise, we leave the camp to conquer the highest pass of the mountain 5000m, 5200mPico Austria, 6 hours round trip hike through. To reach this summit we pass through a trail moraine without technical difficulty but physical effort is amply rewarded by the magnificent view from this point, in the distance you can see the lagoon Tuni, Chiarcota and Black Lagoon. Return to the camp.


Reboot and descent trekking to Plaza de Llamas, where our vehicle awaits us to return to the city of La Paz.

Acclimatisation is essential, we shall not be responsible for failure to complete a trip or get sick because improper acclimatization process.
Regarding the experience of hikers, the guide may suggest a change in plans if the average experience of group members is not suitable for the main purpose of the trip.

Access to attractions may be limited during the rainy season, so the access roads. The rainy season starts in December and ends in March.
